Vinkretsen

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how Vinkretsen works — tastings, importers, cellar, notes and privacy.

What is Vinkretsen?

Vinkretsen is a Swedish digital meeting place for wine tastings, wine-loving users and Swedish wine importers. Here you can discover tastings, follow importers, create your own tastings, save wines in your digital cellar and write tasting notes.

Vinkretsen does not sell alcohol.

Does Vinkretsen sell alcohol?

No. Vinkretsen does not sell alcohol and does not handle orders, carts or delivery of alcoholic beverages.

When a tasting includes a tasting list, it may contain neutral links to public product pages at Systembolaget, for example "View at Systembolaget". Any purchase and pickup happens separately at Systembolaget or another legal external channel.

What is a tasting list?

A tasting list is a list of the wines included in a tasting. It may include name, producer, vintage, region, style, approximate price and an optional link to a public product page at Systembolaget.

The tasting list is a tool for preparing the tasting. It is not a cart and cannot be used to order alcohol via Vinkretsen.

Do I need all the wines at home to join an online tasting?

It depends on the tasting.

Some tastings rely on an exact wine list. Others allow similar wines, and some can be followed in "watch and learn" mode without having the wines at home.

Each tasting page explains how you can participate.

What is an importer tasting?

An importer tasting is a tasting created by a wine importer, or by Vinkretsen together with an importer. It can be online, in person or hybrid.

The importer can present their wines, answer questions and share knowledge about producers, regions and styles.

What is a private tasting?

A private tasting is a tasting you create for yourself, friends, colleagues or a smaller group. It is not shown publicly on Vinkretsen and can only be reached by invitation or by participants you have approved.

You can create a wine list, invite participants, write tasting notes, give scores and save a recap afterwards.

What is Vinkretsen's digital cellar?

The digital cellar is your personal place to save wines you own, have tasted or want to remember.

You can save details such as the wine's name, producer, vintage, region, drinking window, score, tasting notes and links to past tastings.

Your cellar is private by default.

Are my tasting notes private?

Yes — tasting notes are private by default.

You can choose whether a note is:

  • private;
  • shared with friends;
  • shared with a tasting group;
  • public.

Private notes are not shown to other users or importers.

How do live ratings work?

During a tasting, participants can score each wine. Vinkretsen uses an 80–100-point scale for wine ratings.

If the tasting allows it, the group's average can be shown in real time or in the recap afterwards. Importers only see aggregated statistics, not individual private user scores.

What is a recap?

A recap is a summary after a tasting. It can include the evening's wines, your own notes, the group's average scores, Q&A, replay, chapter markers and suggestions for upcoming tastings.

The recap helps you remember what you tasted and what you thought.

Can I follow wine importers?

Yes. You can follow importers to more easily find their upcoming tastings, wine portfolios and news on Vinkretsen.

Importers can see aggregated statistics — for example follower counts and engagement around their wines. They do not get access to your private notes or your private cellar.

Can importers see my private cellar?

No. Your private cellar is private by default.

Importers can only see aggregated and anonymised statistics, such as that a wine has been saved a certain number of times. They cannot see your private bottles, private notes or personal information about your tastings unless you explicitly share it.

What does it cost to use Vinkretsen?

Creating an account is free. Some tastings are free while others require a tasting pass or a seat ticket.

Any prices are clearly shown on each tasting page before booking.

Why is Vinkretsen for ages 25+?

Vinkretsen is aimed at adult wine enthusiasts. The platform is about wine tastings, wine education, tasting notes and a wine community in a responsible and moderate context.

Vinkretsen does not market alcohol to persons under 25.

How does Vinkretsen handle personal data?

Vinkretsen processes personal data to provide accounts, bookings, tastings, notes, cellar, invitations, payments, notifications, security and support.

You can read more in our Privacy policy.

Vinkretsen does not sell alcohol. Purchases of alcoholic beverages are made separately via Systembolaget or other legal external channels.
