Game-Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 white cabbage head
  • 500g game mince (elk, venison or a mix)
  • 100g rice, cooked
  • 1 egg
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 100ml milk
  • Salt, black pepper, allspice
  • Butter for frying
  • 200ml cream
  • 200ml beef stock
  • Lingonberry jam

Method

  1. 11. Boil the cabbage in salted water for 5 minutes. Peel off the leaves.
  2. 22. Mix game mince, rice, egg, onion, milk and spices.
  3. 33. Place a spoonful of filling on each cabbage leaf. Fold and roll up.
  4. 44. Brown the rolls in butter in a frying pan.
  5. 55. Place in a baking dish, pour stock and cream around.
  6. 66. Bake at 175°C for 40 minutes.
  7. 77. Serve with lingonberry jam and boiled potatoes.
