Melted cheese is one of the most generous things you can put in front of a group — and a glass of Viognier or light Pinot Noir enjoys the rich, garlicky charm just as much as the guests do.
Ingredients
- 1 whole Camembert (about 250g), in its wooden box or a small baking dish
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Black pepper
- Good bread, apple slices, and celery for dipping
Method
- 11. Heat the oven to 180°C.
- 22. Remove all plastic wrap. If the cheese came in a wooden box, put it back in. Otherwise use a small oven-safe dish.
- 33. Score a cross in the top of the cheese. Push garlic slices and rosemary sprigs into the cuts.
- 44. Drizzle with honey and olive oil. Crack over some black pepper.
- 55. Bake 15–18 minutes until the cheese bubbles when you press it gently.
- 66. Serve immediately in the box or dish with bread, apple slices, and celery for dipping.
